MISSOULA, MT – A motorcyclist died Sunday morning after colliding with a bear that walked onto a freeway near Missoula.
According to NBC Montana, the incident occurred when the bear walked into the southbound lanes of the freeway near mile marker 53. The motorcyclist attempted to swerve out of the way but was unable to do so before hitting the bear.
The unidentified rider suffered fatal injuries in the wreck. Police say he was wearing a helmet when the incident occurred.
No additional injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
